My deviantART Story

OKAY why not join the bandwagon right before the birthday ends?

Today is August 7th, 2014.
Let's go back three years.

No wait a little more.

Around January 2011?

Yeah sounds about right.

In 7th grade (I was 12 at the time), my friend group was made of artists. They were into digital art with those fancy tablets and programs better than MS Paint. Unbelievable. My friends used witchcraft to make great art I just know it. They still do.

At that time, I was in my weaboo phase. Remember the pictures of anime girls with hair in the face, sparkle sparkle desu eyes, hands behind the back, and unreasonable bust sizes? That was me. This was my most prized artwork:


Yeah, horrifying, right?

*shivers*

I was extremely confident in my artwork and thought I could never improve. Ha.

So anyway moving along, my friends suggested I try digital art. I tried using one of their tablets but could never draw something as simple as a smiley face. Somehow I became pretty decent at digital art through mouse and MS Paint.

So who's the Sonic FC?

That's Nayru the Tiger, a character I developed while I was 12 years old. She was... sort of the only thing I ever drew afterwards. My friends knew I loved to show off my art and suggested I get a deviantART account.

It didn't go over well on the first visit. That was around... February 2011? My parents were the kind to thoroughly inspect a website on our 2005 computer before my siblings and I could even use it. I wasn't allowed on Youtube until a year later.

The visit was my step-dad looking through the latest submissions here on deviantART. For WHATEVER reason, the only images were of a horribly drawn super woman. I specifically remember these pictures. She was white with long blonde hair, and in a blue spandex suit. Also, she had breasts and a butt bigger than her head. There were so many of those pictures.

It's not a surprise my step-dad said no.

Skip ahead a few months to July 2011. I asked my step-dad to take a look again. We made it to the sign-up process!

UNTIL

There was a message stating I had to be at least 13 years of age.

Sure, my friends signed up before they were 13, but did that change my step-dad's opinion?

No.

Let's skip forward one month, to my birthday.

August 26, 2011 was my 13th birthday, and also the day I made a deviantART account with my friends helping out. Ooh and I was given a tablet, too.

Ooh boy those were rough times. Take a look if you want.

I made a lot of improvement while on that account. My art started on MS Paint, but I gradually shifted to dA Muro, the art program supplied here on deviantART. Later on, I downloaded Easy PaintTool Sai, and soon after, my friend let me download Photoshop Elements 7 on a computer I saved my money for (currently using it!).




Then... May 5th, 2012... There was a day I got in a fight with another deviant. It's not something I'm proud of. If anything, it's their fault, but I'm not denying that my actions weren't appropriate, either.

I decided to create a new deviantART account, going by the name of CyberImpact. That's this account I'm currently using. If I did the fancy :icon : code, it'd correct itself to my username.

I used a difference FC- Cyber Lily -and gained a lot of experience in cartoony styles with her.





Between the last two pictures, I decided to make an official switch. The whole "not original" idea of the Sonic Fan Characters didn't suit me, so I made a huge switch in primary art and characters.

Anthros/Furries are where it's at now.

I switched my username to what I'm at now, divertspace around February 2013, and here I am today.

My main character is Sandra Divert, the red head on this journal skin.

I decided to keep drawing Sonic FCs occasionally... can't deny my roots!

This year, 2014, I started something called the Full Color of the Month. It encourages me to submit monthly.





I now have my own comic, Streetlight! It's not too far along yet...

That about wraps up my full deviantART story. Soon enough, I will have been on deviantART for 3 years since (GASP) my 16th birthday is August 26th. My, how far we've come!
